My Notes
Using a specific item of clothing whether it be a shirt, a pair of jeans or trousers is a really good way of keeping an eye on your body changing.
If you can all of a sudden fit into a pair of jeans that have been too tight for the last 3 years, you know you have made progress.
If you can get the extra button on a shirt done up without it looking like it’s going to pop open, you’ve made progress.
It is one of the easiest ways to keep tabs on your progress, and long term when you have reached your goal, is probably the easiest way to keep an eye on your weight/the shape you are in without having to weigh yourself.
You just know – as long as this pair of jeans fits comfortably – I am where I want to be. If they start getting a bit snug – right maybe time to reign things back in again.
Obviously with clothes the one risk you do have is something shrinking in the wash. Just be honest with yourself and apply some common sense here. You know if something has been shrunk or if you’ve gained weight. No point lying to yourself is there.
