My Notes
Most people who do this programme will have tried almost every diet under the sun. Some with greater success than others.
More often than not when someone makes the decision to lose weight again, they go back to a diet that they have done before and already know deep down, isn’t going to work for them long term.
The reason why these diets so rarely work and by work, I mean – (help you achieve your goal and maintain it long term) is because they aren’t specific to you and your desired lifestyle.
All diets have a general standard, a set of rules that as long as you adhere to, you will get results. But to abide by these rules you have to make sacrifices.
Whether it be removing certain foods (often the ones you enjoy the most), or the fact you can’t really have a social life. These are big sacrifices that people feel they can make for maybe a few weeks at a time, but not forever.
The problem is people define these diets as successful because when they adhere to these rules, they lose weight. So they are often left feeling like well I just wasn’t strict enough, it was my fault. I just need to try harder next time and it will work.
This is where you need to realise – you aren’t going to be able to maintain that standard forever and if you were being honest, you wouldn’t even want to.
Because in the grand scheme of things it’s not going to be worth making those sacrifices. Not enjoying your food, not enjoying social occasions, not being able to go out and enjoy yourself guilt free.
To make progress you will have to make sacrifices, but with the knowledge and understanding you will get from this programme, you will be able to choose those sacrifices for yourself so you can include the foods you love and do the things you enjoy whilst still making progress.
In the next video we will start to touch on exactly how that is possible.
