My Notes
The basic principle of fat loss is that the only way to lose body fat, is to create a calorie deficit.
This might be a statement you have seen or heard a few times before but perhaps never fully understood.
A calorie deficit is where you are consuming fewer calories than your body expends. Because your body can’t get all the energy it needs from the calories you are consuming, it needs to source that energy from somewhere else, so it starts breaking down your body’s fat stores, and that is how fat loss occurs.
Calories in – less than calories out.
The calories you’re consuming (calories in) are the things you eat and drink, and the calories out is your Total Daily Energy Expenditure. Which is made up of 4 components that I will go into greater detail about in the upcoming videos.
