My Notes

One of the key principles of this programme is a change in mentality from just following another diet to actually learning the skills and developing the understanding required to make lasting change.

Diets and weight loss is a bit of a bizarre subject. People seem to have this attitude towards fat loss like, once I do this next diet, it will be the last 12 weeks of hard work, then I have reached my goal, job done. There is nothing else in life that this applies too. No one goes to work for 12 weeks earns all their money and then retires.

Like most things in life the ability to manage your weight, and fitness, is a skill and something that needs to be learned, practiced, and applied for the rest of your life.

There seems to be this notion that exercise, and nutrition is just something we are meant to get right. Because it’s natural for us to eat, it’s natural for us to move. But as touched on in the previous video – our reality now is a very different one than we have ever had before.

In this day and age for the majority of us, it takes skill and know how, to be able to successfully manage your weight. Whether it be your job, or learning how to drive, you didn’t get good at it overnight. It took focus, commitment, application, to learn how to do it well before it became second nature to you.

Your job is easier now than when you first started it, not because it requires less effort just because you are better at it and can do it more effectively.

The sooner you accept that this will be part of your life forever, you will always have to eat, your body will always be your body, the sooner you can escape the need for a short-term fix and start focusing on the long-term process.

If you want to sustain your goal you are going to have to make it a priority for the rest of your life. But the good news is, like anything else – the longer you do it the easier it gets.
