Introduction to goal setting
Goal setting is often seen as this cheesy task that for most, they just want to get out of the way before they get stuck into things.
But Goal Setting is an essential part of any successful programme.
Studies have shown that the simple act of writing down a goal, increases your chances of achieving it.
Getting clarity on your goals is one of the most powerful ways to help you make lasting change.
But quite often when it comes to people’s weight loss goals things get a little bit uninspiring, because we tend to just focus on numbers.
Such as, I want to lose a stone. I want to drop 2 clothes sizes.
Which is not very motivating when that is all you think about.
Whether you want to reach a certain weight, certain size or attain a certain level of fitness
The reason WHY your goal is important to you, is very meaningful and it is much more motivating than just numbers.
People want to achieve certain goals, make changes, because they want to feel differently about themselves in some way.
Often that’s more confident, more attractive, they want to boost self-esteem and be proud of themselves
They have an idea in their head about the person they want to be and the life they want to live and reaching these goals will help them achieve that.
But when you get too focused on just the numbers, rather than these reasons WHY your goal is important to you, it is easy to lose motivation and lose sight of why you started in the first place.
