My Notes

The reason why diet myths exist and why people believe them is the same reason why children believe in Santa Claus.

When you are a child, you are told that on Christmas Eve, Santa will come down the chimney and puts presents for you under the tree if you have been well behaved.

You wake up Christmas morning and sure enough – there are all your presents, signed sealed and delivered by Santa himself.

There is no reason for you to suspect or even consider that anything else is responsible for this miracle because people you trust, who you believe to know better, your parents have told you that that’s what happens!

The same applies to fat loss myths. If you are told by an “expert” that if you cut out sugar and bread you will lose weight because carbs make you fat, and then you get on the scales the next week and you have lost weight, you have no reason to believe that anything else is true.

In the next videos I will explore the most common of these myths and explain logically why they exist and why you may have once believed them to be true.

But unlike finding out that Santa doesn’t exist, realising that none of these things are actually magical will be liberating, as you can stop focusing on things that simply do not matter, and instead focus your attention and energy towards the things that are going to get you results.
