Every single diet that there is, works because of the same core principle. They have a set of rules for you to adhere to, that when followed will result in you being a calorie deficit.
Often these rules are based around eliminating entire food groups from your diet.
Whichever food group they decide to eliminate is then demonised and held responsible for being the reason why you have struggled lose weight up until this point.
The result of following their rules is more often than not in the short term, rapid “progress”.
Seeing a shift in the scales gives you evidence to back up what they have sold to you, it creates more buy in, and you continue.
It’s going through this process over and over again, with so many different diets, different sets of rules, that has led people to being where they are now which is very confused about what actually is important for them to focus on to lose weight.
Another problem is that so many of these diets directly contradict one another, so it can feel like everything has been demonised at some point, everything makes you fat, and you are stuck thinking that no matter what – you aren’t going to be able to make progress without cutting out some of your favourite foods and living a lifestyle dedicated to your diet.
In the rest of this course I am going to break down the most popular diets out there and explore some of the common myths about fat loss, to help you finally understand exactly how and why these things “work”, so you can feel confident moving forward in the knowledge that the only way to lose weight is by creating a calorie deficit.
And in knowing that, you have the freedom to create a calorie deficit in the way that suits you best, so you no longer have to remove your favourite foods and dedicate your life to some cultish way of eating to get the results you want.
